ROCHESTER, New York—Do you have a favorite video game that deserves to join icons such as Pong, Pac-Man, Super Mario Bros., Tetris, The Legend of Zelda, and The Oregon Trail in The Strong’s World Video Game Hall of Fame? Video game lovers everywhere are urged to submit nominations for induction online. Submissions for nominations must be made by Monday, February 28, 2022. ROCHESTER, NY—The Strong National Museum of Play today unveiled a new, expanded Woodbury School for preschool and early kindergarten students, which includes two state-of-the-art classrooms, an art studio, and the Mucci Family Literacy Studio. The school, founded in 2005, is inspired by the Reggio-Emilia approach and emphasizes play-based education. Throughout the month of February, celebrate Black History Month at The Strong. Take part in The Strong’s Black History Quest, explore artifacts of Black history in the museum’s exhibits, and check out books about Black history from the Gelser Library.

The Strong is pleased to announce that Tyana Velazquez-Smith has been named assistant vice president for education. In this role, Velazquez-Smith oversees The Strong’s education team, and is responsible for the overall development and implementation of school, family, early-childhood, youth, adult, and other public education programs and activities at the museum, including the museum’s onsite Woodbury School.
