Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and Ice
Opening Weekend Celebration
at The Strong Museum
September 24 & 25

Play in the world of ancient dinosaurs at the Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM exhibit opening celebration at The Strong© museum on Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Meet a friendly dinosaur and create a sand landscape fit for extinct creatures.

Pose for pictures with Fidelisaurus, the mascot for Fidelis Care. Compare your height to that of a real dinosaur and see how much space a late Cretaceous-era creature would take up in the museum. Craft your own pterodactyl using colorful materials. Use dinosaur figures to explore a prehistoric landscape.

Through October 30, use Kinetic Sand courtesy of Spin Master to build mountains, carve valleys, mold volcanoes, and shape rivers to create a setting for dinosaurs. Watch as your handmade environment comes to life and colors in real-time using motion technology to show the depth of the new creation.

Then journey to the time when dinosaurs roamed the land in the Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM exhibit. Get up close with touchable dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes—including a Tyrannosaurus-rex and Triceratops! Travel through three rugged landscapes to learn about dinosaur habitats and investigate the clues these mysterious creatures left behind. Crawl through a smoldering volcano, climb into a squishy bog, slide into an icy cave, learn about the dinosaur food chain, and grab tools to dig up dinosaur fossils.

Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM is produced by Minnesota Children’s Museum and sponsored by Fidelis Care. It remains on view through January 8, 2017. The exhibit and opening weekend activities are included with general museum admission fees.

Programs underwritten in part by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of The Strong.
