It’s Easy Being Green
at The Strong Museum
Show your colorful spirit during It’s Easy Being Green at The Strong® museum on Saturday, March 12 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Enjoy a theater performance, story readings, and green-themed crafts.
Attend a performance of the family-friendly A Little Bit of Magic at 11 a.m. presented by members of the Brockport Interdisciplinary Arts for Children Program. (The Interdisciplinary Arts for Children Program provides arts training to college students interested in arts education or who are planning to become teachers of young children.) A Little Bit of Magic follows a young wizard named Do-Nothing Darla who goes on a journey to find out what makes her special. Along the way, she meets a variety of colorful characters, including Coco the Clown and Marilyn Melody, who teach Darla important lessons.
Enjoy story readings at 1 and 3 p.m. featuring favorite green characters such as Huggly and Green Wilma created by children’s author and illustrator Tedd Arnold. Make ears inspired by Dream Works Pictures lovable ogre and a craft inspired by other popular green characters. Participate in a scavenger hunt and help Lucky the Leprechaun find his friends hiding throughout the museum. And don’t forget to wear green when you visit!
