Women in Games: Inspire!
at The Strong® Museum
November 15

Celebrate and support women in video games during Women in Games: Inspire! at The Strong museum on Thursday, November 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. Enjoy an evening of discussions with innovators from the video game industry, explore the new Women in Games exhibit, and more.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to bring together women from different sectors of the video game industry to discuss what inspired them to achieve success,” says The Strong’s curator Shannon Symonds. “Whether you’re a gamer or historian, this is a unique chance for guests from all walks of life to discover the contributions women have made to the video gaming industry over the course of nearly four decades.”

Take part in an interactive panel discussion moderated by Anastasia Staten, executive director of the Entertainment Software Association Foundation. Speakers include 343 founder Bonnie Ross, Centipede co-creator Dona Bailey, Purple Moon founder Brenda Laurel, former President and CEO of Her Interactive Megan Gaiser, head writer and creative director of Uncharted Amy Hennig, Atari game box illustrator Susan Jaekel, executive director of the International Game Developers Association Jen MacLean, Electronic Arts senior designer Sheri Graner Ray, and founder and CEO of Second Avenue Learning Victoria Van Voorhis. Following the panel, snack on refreshments courtesy of Madeline’s and network with the speakers.

Then explore the new Women in Games exhibit and discover the untold stories of women in the video game industry. View design documents from video game pioneers, explore the evolution of female characters, learn about the writing and artwork involved in video games, and more.
