Fashion Design Through Printmaking Workshop

Combining the technical skills of lino-printing with the creativity of fashion design, local artist Lizz DeSimone will help participants imagine and create a unique print. Participants will get to explore pattern design, lino-cutting, and fabric printmaking and take home a personalized tote bag. This workshop is for children and adults, 8 years old and up. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 16 and must also purchase a ticket for the program. All guests attending this workshop must purchase a ticket.

Lizz DeSimone is a printmaker, painter, and bread baker currently making art and bread in Rochester, NY. Lizz has led art classes, workshops, and curated shows at schools, printshops, and galleries in New Jersey, where she’s originally from, as well as in downstate and upstate New York. She has taught a variety of arts classes as a high school art teacher, arts camp counselor, and master printmaker, and currently is an instructor at the Memorial Art Gallery, teaching classes for adults and kids in the Creative Workshop.

Lizz studied printmaking, painting, and art history at SUNY Purchase School of Art + Design, and Arts Education at Rutgers University in Newark. Lizz is currently printing and painting out of her home studio, on the west side of the Genesee River, where she lives with a German Rottweiler named Dilly Bean and a retired street cat.
