Join circus artist Regan Collins to make and decorate your own sock poi! This workshop introduces one of the most beginner-friendly circus arts: poi spinning! Originated by Māori, the term “poi” refers to both the performance art and the weighted objects these artists twirl to create beautiful visual patterns. Participants will learn how to create their own practice poi, as well as a few basic techniques to start spinning.
Tickets are available online. This workshop is for children and adults, 6 years old and up. A parent or guardian must accompany children under 16 and must also register for the program. Admission is limited and requires pre-registration.
This program is made possible by the generous support of the Guido & Ellen Palma Foundation.
