Group Reservation FAQs

How do I book a group?

All reservations must be submitted online at least two weeks in advance using the group visit request form. Space fills quickly, so early booking is recommended. After your request is added to our calendar, an invoice will be emailed to you. If you do not receive and invoice within five business days, please contact info@museumofplay.org. Check your spam folder!

Are chaperones included?

For Field Trips and Youth Groups, the museum provides one free adult museum admission ticket for every five paid students/youths. The number of free adults you receive will be indicated on your invoice. Any additional adults beyond the free ones included with your group will pay $25 per person.

When filling out the group visit request form, be sure to include the total number of adults in your group. This includes teachers, aides, assistants, nurses, parent chaperones, social workers, etc. Do not include anyone that is buying their own ticket or using their membership.

When is payment due?

Full payment or a purchase order is required two weeks before your visit.

Can we reserve a lunch space?

A lunch period lasting 30 minutes can be reserved for your group if available. We will attempt to schedule your entire group in one lunch period. Large groups may need multiple lunch periods. Groups may bring a bagged lunch or order from the restaurants. We cannot refrigerate or reheat any lunches. Coolers can be brough into the museum.

If you are interested in ordering from Main Menu in the food court, please contact Nick at nickgrocock@thessagroup.com.

If you are interested in ordering from Bill Gray’s, please contact Ricky at Rbrewer@billgrays.com.

Where should buses drop off and park?

Buses may use the drop-off lane on Adventure Place. Students should remain on the bus until instructed by museum staff. The museum parking garage has a maximum height limit of 8’ 2”.

What should we prepare before arriving?

  • Download and review the Group Visit Instructions before your visit. Please ensure this is shared with all the adults visiting with your group.
  • Please assign student–chaperone groups and review the museum map ahead of time. A staff member will provide a brief orientation upon arrival.
  • If additional adults or children need to pay admission, please complete payment online before the visit.
  • Ensure you have your bus driver’s phone number available.

Where can I find accessibility information?

Visit the Accessibility page for social stories and details about accommodations for students with special needs. If a student requires a 1:1 aide, indicate this on the group visit request form.

Are museum staff trained in CPR?

The museum provides AED (automated external defibrillator) units at the main entrance, business entrance, ropes course, and by the second-floor family restrooms. Security staff, as well as select Guest Services staff, are trained in first aid and CPR.

Do museum members in my group receive free admission?

Yes, these individuals should not be included on your reservation. They will check-in with their membership card. Children who are attending an educational lesson must still pay the lesson fee even if they have a membership.
