An Evening for Adults at the Museum!
The Strong’s Seventh Annual Play Ball
on Friday, October 6
Enjoy a night inspired by the unexpected and explore The Strong® museum after hours during its seventh annual fundraising gala for grown-ups only—the Play Ball—on Friday, October 6, from 6 to 10:30 p.m. With unique entertainment, hands-on activities, and a surprise around every corner, this year’s Play Ball promises to transform into a luminous landscape of sophisticated fun. (The museum will be closed to the public on Friday, October 6 in order to prepare for the event.)
“Our family is honored to take part in this unique fundraising event,” says Jim Costanza. Costanza, along with his wife, Andrea, their adult children, and their grand children continue the tradition of a multi-generational model of chairing the Play Ball this year. “With outreach programs and research opportunities, The Strong is a vital part of the Rochester community. Events such as Play Ball help support the museum’s educational initiatives for guests of all ages.” Says Andrea Costanza, “We’re excited to be a part of The Strong’s seventh annual gala event!”
Wear luminous evening attire and dazzling accessories that light up the museum—or go all out and come dressed as a favorite game character or toy. (Costumes are admired, but not required.) Savor inventive cuisine and delightfully decadent desserts, and sip on beer and wine. Play throughout the museum galleries and enjoy unlimited video game play, rides on the carousel, and journeys through Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden.
Also this year, The Strong will welcome world-renowned juggler extraordinaire Viktor Kee to the main stage. Viktor combines dance, acrobatics, and juggling together, and he has headlined performances at the MGM Grand and the Mirage in Las Vegas and Moulin Rouge in Paris. He has also performed around the world with Cique du Soleil’s Dralion and Amaluna shows. In 2016, Viktor was one of the top 10 contestants featured on NBC’s America’s Got Talent.
Among the leading sponsors for the Play Ball are Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., Canfield and Tack, Delta Air Lines, Monroe County, and Konar Properties.
Tickets are $175 per person. Funds raised support the many education and outreach programs provided by The Strong.
