The Strong Museum Launches
Adult After-Hours Event

The Happiest Hour on August 26

ROCHESTER, NY—Happy Hour just got happier. Adults 21 and older can enjoy a game-filled evening of museum exploration, free food, and cash bar during the Happiest Hour on Wednesday, August 26 from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. at The Strong museum. Tickets can be purchased in advance at for $10 or at the door for $12 while supplies last. The evening is presented by The Strong Play Makers, a volunteer group of young professionals. All proceeds from this event support The Strong’s educational mission and community outreach programs.

“The Strong offers so much for people of all ages, and the Happiest Hour is all about reminding adults that they still need to play,” says Bernard Birnbaum, chair of The Strong’s Play Makers. “It’s also about having some unforgettable summer fun with friends!”

Enjoy complimentary bar-style snacks courtesy of Marshall Street Bar and Grill and a cash bar featuring the local beers of Roc Brewing Co. while exploring two floors of hands-on, interactive exhibits. Step right up to Boardwalk Arcade and try your hand at carnival games and classic arcade games, including Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and NBA Jam. Then play redemption games such as Fish Bowl Frenzy and Skee Ball to win tickets to redeem for prizes. Venture up to the second floor to play Pac-Man, Street Fighter, and more in the eGameRevolution exhibit. The evening will also feature costumed characters, an opportunity to try fencing with the Rochester Fencing Club, and target shooting with the Rochester Foam Dart League.

Guests to the Happiest Hour must be 21 years of age or older. (Please bring valid photo ID.) Five game tokens are included with the Happiest Hour admission. Ticket sales are final and not refundable. Bar is cash only. An ATM is available on site. Free parking is available in the museum lot on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event is made possible by generous sponsors: Marshall Street Bar and Grill, Roc Brewing Co., Glow City, City Newspaper, 96.5 WCMF, Yelp, Rochester Fencing Club, and Rochester Foam Dart League.
