Next Literature Live Weekend
at the National Museum of Play® at The Strong®
April 21 & 22

Popular literary characters jump off the pages of your favorite books and into the National Museum of Play at The Strong at Literature Live Weekends on select Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 pm. and Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. to meet, greet, and pose for pictures with museum guests. 

On Saturday, April 21 and Sunday, April 22, meet Geronimo Stilton, the mild-mannered mouse journalist who lives in New Mouse City on Mouse Island. Pose for pictures with Geronimo, and check out a book from the Literature Live book cart and continue the experience at home.

And on Saturday, April 21 ONLY museum guests can enjoy the following additional special events:         

  • 10 a.m.–noon: Meet Numbers League Artist Chris Pallace. Super-size your brain with new, never-seen-before, one-of-a-kind games and mazes created by Rochester artist Chris Pallace, the brain and artist behind Numbers League, a superhero card game. See Heroic Hot Dog, Curious Cool Cat, Digital Diva and a host of colorful characters brought to life by Pallace in a display of his life-size Numbers League Superhero illustrations on view through May 20.       
  • 10:45 a.m.: Go, Dog. Go! Costumed Reading. TYKEs presents a 30-minute costumed reading of the classic beginners book Go, Dog. Go! A full-scale production of the tale will be presented at the Jewish Community Center.

            June 30 & July 1: The Cat in the Hat, from the Dr. Seuss classic

   All Literature Live weekends are included with general museum admission fees. 


Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to
8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Admission Fees: General Admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): Adults $13, Seniors $12, Children (2–15) $11, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.

Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $2 for members, $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.

Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
