Most guests spend three to five hours exploring the museum, depending on how many exhibits and play spaces they want to experience. Families with young children often lean toward the longer end because there’s so much hands-on play to enjoy.
Yes. While some exhibits are geared toward older kids, there are plenty of areas a one-year-old can enjoy. There are toddler-only areas in Wegmans Super Kids Market and Imagination Destination on the museum’s first floor.
Yes. Bags and wagons are permitted throughout the museum. Bags and strollers are subject to security inspection.
Yes. Lockers are available to rent—$4 for large and $5 for jumbo—to store your belongings while you play and explore.
You’re welcome to bring your own stroller. We do not offer stroller rentals.
A limited number of wheelchairs are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and we do not provide powered scooters.
You’re welcome to bring snacks, beverages, and brown-bag lunches. We simply ask that all food be enjoyed in the food court. Parties, cakes, and picnics aren’t allowed inside the museum.
Definitely. Same-day reentry is easy. Just ask for a reentry hand stamp at the check-in podium before you exit. If you leave the garage, please note that additional parking fees may apply.

Yes. The Strong is a no smoking and no vaping campus, indoors and out.
Weekdays—especially early mornings and late afternoons—typically offer the smallest crowds. Weekends, school breaks, and holidays tend to be busier, and arriving at opening often provides the most relaxed experience.
An admission ticket includes The Strong’s permanent and temporary exhibits, access to the Play Lab, and most experiences throughout the museum. Some special programs and attractions, such as Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden and Ralph Wilson Skyline Climb, require an additional fee.
Yes. The Strong provides a range of accessibility accommodations, including wheelchairs available on a first-come, first-served basis; accessible restrooms; elevators; and assistance from staff for guests who may need extra support or a quieter space. Visitors with specific needs are encouraged to speak with a team member during their visit.
The Strong welcomes service dogs. Service animals are defined as dogs that are individually trained to do work or perform tasks for people with disabilities. A person with a disability may be asked to remove their service animal from the premises if: (1) the dog is out of control and the handler does not take effective action to control it or (2) the dog is not housebroken.
Pets, comfort or therapy animals, and emotional support animals are not permitted on museum property.
No persons are permitted to leave an animal unattended or in a vehicle on museum property.
