Collecting Black Play Photography

The Strong seeks to represent the multi-faceted nature of play across many different communities, and as part of that effort we ask that our Black community members send photographs of themselves and their families enjoying playtime. This project is an attempt to record the stories of Black play happening in our own backyard in order to create a rich, diverse archive that reflects the unique histories and experiences of the Black community. These photos will enrich The Strong’s collections and may be used in upcoming exhibits, educational programs, and digital archives. Together, we can preserve and celebrate our shared heritage.
