Numbers League Superheroes on Display
at the National Museum of Play
February 18—May 20

Meet Heroic Hot Dog, Curious Cool Cat, Digital Diva, and a host of colorful characters brought to life by Rochester artist Chris Pallace in Numbers League Superheroes, a display of life-size superhero illustrations on view at the National Museum of Play Saturday, February 18 through Sunday, May 20, 2012.

The illustrations are greatly enlarged versions of the characters from Numbers League, a superhero card game in which players build heroes from different heads, bodies, and legs to help save Infinity City.

“The heroes and villains of Numbers League are rooted in my early years reading comics,” says Pallace, co-owner and lead illustrator of Bent Castle Workshops (, a game company focusing on tabletop family-friendly card games.

During the display’s run, museum guests are invited to dress up in capes and other props and pose for pictures with the life-size superhero illustrations. Kids can also build their own cartoon superheroes at a nearby art table with paper cut-out body parts (heads, torsos, legs) to mix and match.

The Numbers League Superheroes display is included with general museum admission fees.
