Toddler Book Club and Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6
Winter 2012 Schedules
at the National Museum of Play®

Toddler Book Club

Join the Toddler Book Club at the National Museum of Play at The Strong® on selected Mondays at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Parents and toddlers will enjoy readings of award-winning books, and then join in related music and movement activities. The Toddler Book Club fall schedule follows:

Mondays, January 9, 16 & 23­: Color Me Happy. Explore the colors of the rainbow with books such as Color Dance, Color Surprises, and the Crayon Box that Talked.

Mondays, February 6, 13 & 27: Love Is In the Air. Fall in love with heart-warming tales such as Guess How Much I Love You, Arthur’s Valentine, Biscuit’s Valentine’s Day, and Love, Splat.

Mondays, March 5, 12, 19 & 26: Fairy Tales. Journey to a land far, far away with fantastic stories such as The Paper Bag Princess and Cinderella.

All Toddler Book Club programs are included with general museum admission fees.

 

Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6

Enjoy playful learning activities with your child at the Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6 series at the National Museum of Play at The Strong. Designed by museum educators, this series helps parents teach little ones important skills through play. Programs take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. one Monday a month. Upcoming programs include:  

Monday, January 23: Somewhere over the Rainbow. Engage in The Wizard of Oz-themed songs, dance, and movement activities with teaching artist Sarah Peters and use light tables to explore the magic of colors.

Monday, February 13: Hearts with Tin Man. Meet Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz and make him a heart or create a card for a loved one. In conjunction with The Wizard of Oz exhibit.

Monday, March 5: Once Upon a Time. Be transported to another world. Dance with the Queen of Play, make a crown, and “feast” at the banquet table.

Monday Kicks programs are included with general museum admission fees.

Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to
5 p.m.

Admission Fees: General admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): Adults $13, Seniors $12, Children (2–15) $11, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.

Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General admission fee plus $2 for members; $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only..

Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
