Football: The Exhibit Opening Weekend Celebration
at the National Museum of Play®
September 24 and 25

Down, set, hike! Come dressed in your favorite team colors and rush into the action at the Opening Weekend Celebration for Football: The Exhibit at The Strong’s National Museum of Play on Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, September 25 from noon to 4 p.m.

Sharpen your pigskin skills with target practice, footwork, and more activities designed to get your body moving and your mind in the game from noon to 3 p.m. each day.

Enjoy sports-inspired antics with Crystal and Scooter from Just Clowning Around as they get ready for the Big Game. Performances take place Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1 and 2:30 p.m.; and Sunday at 1 and 2:30 p.m.

Make pennants and pompoms to cheer on your team, vote for your favorite team mascot, and get a sports-themed faux tattoo. Have fun playing dress-up with football, cheerleader, and referee costumes. Shop for game-day goodies in Super Kids Market.

On Sunday only, from 2 to 3:30 p.m., shake hands and pose for pictures with Otto the Orange, mascot for Syracuse University Athletics. Cheer on the Orange as they play Toldedo on September 24 and Rutgers on October 1!

Football: The Exhibit evokes all of the excitement and experience of the game while exploring the science and technology that makes it all possible. Giant airbrushed paintings of players in action lead the way into interactive game zones. Learn key concepts including collisions, peripheral vision, reaction times, trajectories, and balance. Test your speed on the Sprint Track, discover the secret to throwing a perfect pass with the Bicycle Wheel Gyroscope, test your strength and accuracy skills in the Passing Cage, perform awesome collision experiments on the Momentum Track, and more.

Football: The Exhibit is a traveling exhibit organized by the Arkansas Museum of Discovery. The exhibit will remain on view at the National Museum of Play through January 8, 2012.
