ROCHESTER, NY—To thank local healthcare workers and first responders for their tireless efforts the past year, The Strong is pleased to announce Celebrating Local Heroes, two evenings of exclusive hours for these workers and their families from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 21, and Monday, March 22. The evening hours are free admission to The Strong with a $5 donation that will go to Foodlink of Rochester. The evenings also include free admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden, free video game play, and free carousel and train rides. Due to capacity limitations, healthcare workers and first responders are asked to register in advance

“Our healthcare workers and first responders have been on the frontlines battling this pandemic for more than a year, and this is our thank you for their hard work and a chance for them to have some quality family time,” says Steve Dubnik, president and CEO of The Strong. “Play has proven to be a key part of emotional, physical, and mental health, and we want to provide a respite and safe opportunity for them and their families to enjoy some play time together. The museum has been safely open since June with full COVID-19 protocols in place, including capacity limits, mask requirements, increased sanitation, and top-rated air filtration.”

Registration

Celebrating Local Heroes is open to all healthcare workers and first responders and their families. The evenings will include exclusive access to the museum and requires all guests to follow the museum’s COVID-19 safety protocols. Advance registration is required and requires a $5 donation for Foodlink of Rochester. Parking fees will be waived for the two evenings.
