The Strong Announces New Board Officers, Names New Trustees

ROCHESTER, New York—The Strong National Museum of Play is pleased to announce that Cecilia Griffin Golden, former deputy superintendent of the Rochester City School District, has been elected as chairperson of its board of trustees. Griffin Golden has been a member of the board since 2014. Bernard Birnbaum, president and CEO of Birnbaum Companies, and Aaron Newman, executive chairman and founder of Cloudcheckr, were named vice-chairs.

The Strong is also pleased to announce three new board members:

Deborah Stendardi, Rochester Institute of Technology

Deborah Stendardi is the former vice president for government and community relations at Rochester Institute of Technology. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Cortland and a master’s degree in public administration from the State University of New York at Albany.

Tony Holmes, ESL Federal Credit Union

Tony Homes is the vice president and director of mortgage lending at ESL Federal Credit Union. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Temple University and MBA from La Salle University.

Joel Frater, Monroe Community College

Joel Frater is the fomer executive dean of the downtown campus for Monroe Community College. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree and an Ed.D. from Temple University.
