The Strong invites interested parents to learn about the museum’s unique preschool and early kindergarten curriculum during a virtual Woodbury School Parent Information Session on Monday, November 30, at 3 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to meet Debbie McCoy, assistant vice president for education, and learn about the museum’s play-based educational approach. Beginning December 1, 2020, Woodbury School will accept enrollment applications on a first-come, first-served basis for both preschool and early kindergarten programs for the 2021–2022 school year.
Woodbury School is inspired by the Reggio Emilia teaching approach, which sees each child as a competent, resourceful, curious, and inventive learner. Small classes, specially designed classrooms, and a secure outdoor play space offer a nurturing environment for preschool and early kindergarten students. Set among the museum’s engaging, dynamic exhibits, the school provides children the opportunity to explore fun learning environments with hands-on guidance. Early childhood teachers help foster children’s creativity and self-discovery through playful activities.
How to apply: Eligible preschool students must be three or four years old on or before December 1, 2021. Eligible early kindergarten students must be four or five years old on or before December 1, 2021. Enrollment applications for the 2021–2022 school year are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Applications for enrollment will be accepted beginning December 1, 2020. Applications may be submitted using the online form or may be printed, completed, and mailed to The Strong at One Manhattan Square, Rochester, New York, 14607. A limited number of needs-based partial scholarships are available.
