Winter & Spring 2020 Schedule
Celebrate the joy of reading! Hear classic children’s stories read aloud and go on literary adventures at Carol D. Simmons Storytime Club at The Strong museum on select Mondays at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m. Get your Storytime Club passport punched during each visit. Collect five punches and receive a free children’s book. Learn how to sign up for a library card, check out books from the museum’s exhibits, and explore the imaginative world of stories in the Reading Adventureland exhibit. The Storytime Club spring schedule follows:
Mondays, January 6, 13 & 27—Winter Wonderland. Cozy up with stories about winter weather.
Mondays, February 3, 10 & 24—Dragons and Friends. Be whisked away with fantasy stories about dragons.
Mondays, March 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30—Animal Friends. Learn about creatures and get up close to animals that live at the museum.
Mondays, April 13, 20 & 27—Showers and Flowers. Delight in tales about enjoying rainy weather in the spring.
Mondays, May 4, 11 & 18—Cuddly Buddies. Snuggle up for stories about teddy bears and other favorite friends.
Monday, June 1—Summer Sports. Swing in for books about summertime activities, such as soccer and baseball.
All Carol D. Simmons Storytime Club programs are included with general museum admission fees. Storytime Club is named in honor of Carol D. Simmons, a former children’s librarian in the Pittsford Central School District. The gift is made possible through the generous support of Harvey D. Simmons in loving memory of his wife. Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
General Admission Fees (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): age 2 and older $16, under age 2 free, members free. Fees subject to change.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers, under age 2 free. Fees subject to change.
Parking: Limited parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis in the museum’s parking garage. The garage can be accessed from Howell Street on the south side of the museum. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
