Memberships that Make Memories

Did you grow up visiting The Strong National Museum of Play? Do your kids have fond memories of the Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street? exhibit, Strong Express Train, or Elaine P. Wilson Carousel? Upload your photos on The Strong’s Facebook or Instagram for a chance to win a free membership! All submissions must be original.

Winners may see their photo appear in museum publications, on the museum’s website (museumofplay.org), or on signage around the museum.

How to Enter

  • Upload your photo as a comment to a Memberships that Make Memories Contest post on the museum’s official Facebook page or Instagram @museumofplayroc.
  • November 13–26, 2023: Can You Tell Me How to Get to Sesame Street?
  • November 27–December 10, 2023: Strong Express Train
  • December 11–31, 2023: Elaine P. Wilson Carousel
  • No mail-in or email entries will be accepted.
  • Maximum 1 entry per person per exhibit per day.


Selection of Winners

  • Winner will be selected randomly.
  • Contest winner will be announced on The Strong Museum’s social media.
  • Contest winner receives a basic museum membership and associated benefits for one year, upon activation.


Rules and Eligibility

All photos must be submitted to the museum’s official Facebook page or Instagram @museumofplayroc.

Museum officials shall be the sole arbiters in all matters relating to the Memberships that Make Memories Contest and in the interpretation of rules and eligibility. Their decisions shall be final. Submission of photos constitutes agreement by participants to abide by these rules, as well as any other rules established by The Strong.

The Memberships that Make Memories Contest is open to all persons residing in the United States and Canada. Parents or legal guardians of participants ages 13 years and younger must submit that participant’s entry.

All entries must be submitted in the name of an individual person. Entrant must obtain permission of all submission subjects, and in the case of children under 18, the child’s parent or legal guardian’s permission must be obtained prior to submitting photo. If your photo is selected as a winner, photo releases must be obtained by all winning submission subjects in order to redeem prize. In the event photo releases cannot be provided, The Strong reserves the right to disqualify the submission.

Entrant guarantees submission is original and does not infringe upon any third party rights including, without limitation, copyright, trademark, and rights of publicity and privacy, or violate applicable laws or regulations. The Memberships that Make Memories Contest is void where prohibited.

Prize winners will be notified via Facebook or Instagram. The winning entrant will be awarded a basic museum membership for one year upon eligibility confirmation. The Strong reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash. Prizes not claimed within 30 business days of being awarded shall be considered forfeited and will become property of The Strong.

Selected photos become the property of The Strong, and may be reproduced on the museum’s website, social media, and in publicity or promotional communications without compensation or acknowledgement. No purchase is necessary to enter or to be selected as a Memberships that Make Memories Contest winner.

Employees (including, without limitation, part-time or temporary employees) of The Strong, their immediate family, and other household members (i.e., spouses, parents, grandparents, children, grandchildren, roommates, housemates, significant others, partners, and siblings) may submit photos, but are NOT eligible to win.

The Strong reserves the right to remove and disqualify any entries that it considers to be off-topic, inappropriate, or offensive. Entries that are determined to be fraudulent or in violation of these rules and eligibility requirements will be void.

The museum is not responsible for any technical malfunction related to Internet connection, servers, routers, or any other technical problem that may impact entry, participation, or prize claim.
