Get up close with some of America’s most iconic artifacts. Experience the new, high-tech Toy Halls of Fame exhibit. Go hands-on with the toys beloved by generations in The Strong’s National Toy Hall of Fame and meet toy industry innovators such as Milton Bradley, Walt Disney, Ruth and Elliot Handler, Jim Henson, George Lucas, and Louis Marx of the Toy Industry Association's Toy Industry Hall of Fame.
Enter the lush rain-forest environment of Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden. A visit to The Strong museum is not complete without a stop at Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden, the only year-round indoor butterfly garden in upstate New York. Walk among hundreds of brilliantly colored, free-flying tropical and native butterflies and be sure to visit the chrysalis case to see emerging butterflies.
See how video games are changing how people, play, learn, and connect with each other. Take a rare glimpse at artifacts such as Computer Space and a Nintendo Entertainment System gray cartridge, and view original notes and drawings from legendary game inventors such as Will Wright, Ralph Baer, and John Romero. Go hands on in the eGameRevolution exhibit and play your way through the history of electronic games. Visit the World Video Game Hall of Fame and nominate your favorite video game for induction.
Get ready for educational, entertaining, and unforgettable intergenerational fun. Move like a piece on a giant game board through three centuries of American games, step onto Sesame Street, leap into the world of American comic book heroes, visit a retro pinball arcade, enter a life-size dollhouse, follow the Yellow Brick Road into the world’s largest pop-up book, hop onto a working 1918 carousel, test your skills on classic games in a 1980s video arcade, and so much more!
