Take a walk on the Whimsical Art Trail through Sunday, October 24. Receive a trail guide when you arrive at the museum Admissions desk and discover imaginative works by:
- Dianne Dengel, a gifted painter and creator of cloth dolls and sculptures who creates her lovable tableaux of children and families using only her fingers to paint with oil paints and rolled bits of paper
- Doll maker Nancy Wiley whose work appeared on the cover of George magazine (John Kennedy Jr. hired her to costume Demi Moore as one of her dolls)
- Wildlife sculptor Craig Wilson, who comes from an amazingly accomplished family of sculptors and is a full-time artist on Strong’s Exhibit’s team (you may be familiar with his lovable Troll in Reading Adventureland, and his cow bench in Kid to Kid, among many other works of museum art)
- Brian Wilson (Craig’s late brother) who created “Fantastic Flying Machines” using copper spheres, brass-brazed steel riggings, sails, flags, and figures
- Albert Wilson (Craig’s late father), who transformed crude, rudimentary steel I beams into figures, personalities, and unusual objects
Happy trails!
