Prepare to chuckle at the antics of Mr. Potato Head, Jack in the Box, LEGO bricks, and other beloved toys in many of the nearly 80 hilarious, irreverent, and quirky cartoons by nationally syndicated cartoonist Leigh Rubin (Rubes), on view at the Rubes® Cartoon Display at the National Museum of Play.
Rubes cartoons tickle readers’ funny bones in more than 400 media outlets worldwide, including Rochester’s Democrat and Chronicle, the Toronto Sun, The Washington Times, the Sacramento Bee, The Orange County Register, and the Los Angeles Daily News.
Says Rubin, “Each day I put pencil to paper and go to work with the intention of creating something silly that will surprise the reader. Like all jobs, some days are more challenging than others. It’s only when people laugh that my work becomes play.”
And don’t miss these Leigh Rubin appearances:
- Leigh Rubin makes a special appearance at this year’s National Toy Hall of Fame Induction at The Strong on November 7 at 10:30 a.m. when he reveals two new, original Rubes cartoons in honor of the 2013 toy hall inductees.
