Bounce in for delightful performances during the Have a Ball Opening Weekend Celebration at The Strong museum on Saturday, June 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, June 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Marvel at live juggling acts, learn how to perform ball tricks, and discover the new, original Have a Ball exhibit.
Enjoy interactive performances by Flower City Vaudeville on Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Watch as the comedic group leads juggling demonstrations and try your hand at ball tricks. Also all weekend long, zoom a ball through a pipe maze and build a classic cup-and-ball toy.
Then journey through the history of the ball and learn about the importance of ball play as a universal social, cultural, and human experience in Have a Ball! View iconic artifacts—including the ball that gave baseball legend Willie Mays his 3,000th hit, courtesy of the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York—and test your skills at a variety of physical and virtual activities. Explore the history and form of ball games from around the world and go hands-on with a variety of virtual and physical activities.
All Have a Ball Opening Weekend Celebration activities are included with general museum admission fees. Programs underwritten in part by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of The Strong.
Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
General Admission Fees (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): age 2 and older $14.50, under age 2 free, members free.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers, under age 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.
Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis during regular museum hours. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
