at The Strong® Museum
Flutter in for an enchanting, magical day during Fairy House Magic at The Strong museum on Saturday, May 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Take pictures with a fairy, listen to story readings, enjoy live musical performances, and more.
Meet Leafy the Fairy and get a sprinkle of fairy dust for good luck. Enjoy story readings at 1 and 2:30 p.m. with Tracy Kane, award-winning author of the Fairy Houses book series. Delight in fairy-inspired music by Lyric Arts Academy at 2 p.m. Transform into a fairy, woodland sprite, or magical creature with delightful fairy wings. Play with whimsical building blocks and woodland animal and fairy puppets. Visit the Discovery Garden and view colorful fairy houses donated by artist Chris Palace.
Use inspiration from this enchanting day to build your own fairy house and submit it to the 2017 Corn Hill Arts Festival Fairy House Tour. Learn more about the festival at cornhillartsfestival.com.
Tracy Kane has received national acclaim for her illustrated children’s books. She has been featured in The New York Times and an award from the American Booksellers Association. Kane’s wondrous books inspire readers to venture outdoors and use their creativity to design fanciful dwellings for fairies.
All Fairy House Magic activities are included with general museum admission fees. Programs underwritten in part by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of The Strong.
Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
General Admission Fees (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): age 2 and older $14.50, under age 2 free, members free.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $4 for members, $5 for nonmembers, under age 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.
Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis during regular museum hours. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
