America at Play Opening Celebration
December 10
at The Strong® Museum

Commemorate the opening of The Strong’s newest permanent exhibit at the America at Play Opening Celebration at The Strong museum on Saturday, December 10 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Take a trip back in time and see what play was like in the 19th-century with staff from the Genesee Country Village and Museum. Try your hand at toys of the past, including jackstraws, cup-and-ball, the whimmy-diddle and more. Create your own cup-and-ball. Delight in winter scenes designed and produced by the Rochester LEGO Users Group.

Then dive into the past and explore more than 300 years of play and pastimes at the original, permanent America at Play exhibit. View rare and iconic artifacts from every era throughout the exhibit, including the world’s largest Erector Set, a Buddy L Wrecker truck made entirely out of wood, and the first handmade Monopoly set by Charles Darrow.

All America at Play opening celebration activities are included with general museum admission fees. Programs underwritten in part by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of The Strong.
