Dino-MIGHT Weekend
at The Strong Museum
November 5 & 6

Unleash the power of dinosaurs during Dino-MIGHT Weekend at The Strong© museum Saturday, November 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, November 6 from 1 to 4 p.m. Pose with a dinosaur from PBS Kids, uncover fossils, and create a dinosaur diorama in conjunction with the Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM exhibit.Dinosaur Train

Meet and take pictures with Buddy, the curious Tyrannosaurus-rex from the popular PBS Kids series Jim Henson’s Dinosaur Train seen locally on WXXI-TV. Work with paleontologists from the renowned Penn Dixie site in Blasdell, New York, and learn about their work uncovering fossils in the area, including Devonian period marine fossils that are 400 million years old.

Watch dinosaur figures battle for survival at the volcano eruption table and help create a giant dino diorama. Color and cut out paper dinosaurs and help build a home for them by crafting trees, rocks, volcanoes, and more using materials, such as construction paper and pipe cleaners.

And explore the new Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM exhibit. Get up close with touchable dinosaurs of all shapes and sizes, crawl through a smoldering volcano, learn about the dinosaur food chain, and grab tools to dig up dinosaur fossils. Also learn why children have long been fascinated with dinosaur play by viewing artifacts from The Strong’s collections in the Big, Scary, and Extinct display, including a rare booklet from Sinclair Dinoland, an attraction at the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair.

All Dino-MIGHT activities are included with general admission fees. Dinosaurs: Land of Fire and IceTM exhibit produced by Minnesota Children’s Museum and sponsored by Fidelis Care. Programs underwritten in part by Delta Air Lines, the official airline of The Strong.
