The Strong Announces
and Educational Opportunities for Adults
Enjoy behind-the-scenes experiences and educational opportunities with new Lifelong Learning: Museum Experiences for Adults at The Strong museum. These playful experiences—set amid the museum’s world-class collections and interactive exhibit spaces— are designed to accommodate a range of interests and physical abilities. Upcoming programs include:
Margaret’s Closet: Behind-the-Scenes at The Strong
Monday, May 9, 1 p.m.
Visit a state-of-the-art collection storage facility with a member of the museum’s curatorial team. View an array of artifacts of play, some seldom seen by the public and others awaiting display in upcoming exhibits. Then stop by the museum’s fabrication area to talk with the people who conceptualize and design The Strong’s exhibits.
Collector’s Corner: Margaret Woodbury Strong
Monday, June 6, 1 p.m.
Learn about the life and dreams of one of Rochester’s foremost collectors through documents, photographs, and other archival materials. Discover how Margaret set the wheels in motion for what would become the world’s largest collection of toys, dolls, board games, video games, and other historic materials related to play at The Strong.
All Lifelong Learning activities are $15 per person. Reservations are required and may be made online or by calling Guest Information Services at 585-263-2700.
The Strong also welcomes organized groups of adults for guided museum experiences. Requests for a Lifelong Learning program exclusively for groups, on the day of your choosing, can be made online. Groups must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance of the visit.
