Celebrating Dr. Seuss
at The Strong Museum
February 27 & 28

Celebrate the birthday of Dr. Seuss at The Strong® museum on Saturday, February 27 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, February 28 from 1 to 4 p.m. Enjoy silly stories, make whimsical crafts, and more.

Delight in performances from Aquinas Institute’s production of Seussical the Musical at 2 p.m. each day. Join Horton the Elephant as he goes on a journey to save the mayor’s son. Mr. & Mrs. Mayor, Horton’s neighbor Gertrude McFuzz, and the rest of Whoville try to help Horton during his quest. Following each performance, meet characters from the play including the Cat in the Hat, Horton, and others.

All weekend long:

  • Meet Thing 1 and Thing 2 as they stroll through the museum.
  • Participate in a variety of Dr. Seuss-inspired games including Truffala Tree limbo and Go Fish.
  • Enjoy story readings of favorite Dr. Seuss books, such as Hop on Pop and Dr. Seuss’s ABC, at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday.
  • Try tongue twisters, make a Truffula Tree craft, and more.

Celebrating Dr. Seuss is being held in conjunction with Dr. Seuss’s birthday and National Education Association’s Read Across America Day (March 2). All Celebrating Dr. Seuss activities are included with general museum admission fees.
