Woodbury School Parent Information Night
November 19 at The Strong Museum
2016–2017 School Year Enrollment Starts December 1)

The Strong® invites interested parents to learn about the museum’s unique preschool and early kindergarten curriculum during a Woodbury School Parent Information Night on Thursday, November 19 at 6 p.m. Parents will have an opportunity to tour classrooms and meet school staff. (Reservations are not necessary.) Beginning December 1, 2015, Woodbury School will accept enrollment applications on a first-come, first-served basis for both preschool and early kindergarten programs for the 2016–2017 school year.

Woodbury School is inspired by the Reggio Emilia teaching approach, which sees each child as a competent, resourceful, curious, and inventive learner. Small classes, specially designed classrooms, and a secure outdoor play space offer a nurturing environment for preschool and early kindergarten students. Set among the museum’s engaging, dynamic exhibits, the school provides children the opportunity to explore fun learning environments with hands-on guidance. Early childhood teachers help foster children’s creativity and self-discovery through playful activities.

How to apply: Eligible preschool students must be three or four years old on or before December 1, 2016. Eligible early kindergarten students must be four or five years old on or before December 1, 2016. Enrollment applications for the 2016–2017 school year are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

A limited number of needs-based partial scholarships are available. Applications will be available online at museumofplay.org/education/woodbury-school and at the museum admissions desk beginning December 1, 2015. To receive an application by mail, call 585-263-2700, Monday through Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

About The Strong
The Strong is the only collections-based museum in the world devoted solely to play. It is home to the International Center for the History of Electronic Games, the National Toy Hall of Fame, the World Video Game Hall of Fame, the Brian Sutton-Smith Library and Archives of Play, the Woodbury School, and the American Journal of Play and houses the world’s most comprehensive collection of historical materials related to play. Known widely as the nation’s museum of play, The Strong blends the best features of both history museums (extensive collections) and children’s museums (high interactivity) to explore the ways in which play encourages learning, creativity, and discovery and illuminates cultural history.
