An Evening for Adults at the Museum!
The Strong’s Fifth Annual Play Ball
on Friday, October 2

Enjoy a night inspired by the unexpected and explore The Strong® museum after hours during its fifth annual fundraising gala for grown-ups only—the Play Ballon Friday, October 2, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. With unique entertainment, hands-on activities, and a surprise around every corner, this year’s Play Ball promises to transform the ordinary into extraordinary. (The museum will be closed to the public on Friday, October 2 in order to prepare for the event.)

Be a part of the transformation this year by dressing in black and white with pops of color—or come dressed as your favorite toy! Costumes are admired, but not required. Savor inventive cuisine and delightfully decadent desserts, and sip on beer and wine.  Play throughout the museum galleries and enjoy unlimited video game play, rides on the carousel, and journeys through Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden.

“We are honored to be part of the five-year anniversary of this exciting event,” says Laura Saxby Lynch, member of The Strong’s Board of Trustees, who serves as honorary co-chair of the event along with her husband, John Lynch. “We invite ‘kids at heart’ to join us this year to witness a remarkable transformation at The Strong. We guarantee you have never seen anything like it before.”

“There are some unique new elements for the Play Ball this year that we hope will add to the success of prior years,” says John. “One of them is an exclusive clubhouse area courtesy of Good Luck Restaurant where guests can purchase keepsake glasses and craft cocktails served up in style by Good Luck’s mixologists.”

Also this year, The Strong will welcome world-renowned electro hip-hop violinist, Svet, to the main stage. Working with local favorite DJ Naps, Svet—who has appeared on the NBC show America’s Got Talent—will perform brand new arrangements and mixes of classic video game music. Bid on one-of-a-kind items in the live and silent auctions. Be among the first to experience the stunning, new state-of-the-art Toy Halls of Fame exhibit. Play Ball guests will also be treated to performances from contortionists and acrobats from Aerial Arts of Rochester.

Among the leading sponsors for the Play Ball are Excellus BlueCross BlueShield, Wegmans Food Markets, Inc., HCR Home Care, COMIDA, Monroe County, and Rochester Business Journal.

Tickets are $150 per person. Funds raised support the many education and outreach programs provided by The Strong. To purchase tickets for the Play Ball, contact Shannon Struzik at 585-899-3288 or shannon_struzik@dixonschwabl.com. For more information about the Play Ball, visit www.theplayball.org.
