Klutz® Crafts School–Break Week
at The Strong Museum
March 28–April 5
Get crafty during Klutz® Crafts School–Break Week at The Strong® museum from Saturday, March 28 through Sunday, April 5. Use Klutz activity books to create thumbprint artwork, paper airplanes sculptures, and other imaginative crafts out of pipe cleaners.
On Saturdays March 28 and April 4 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., watch unique pipe cleaner building demonstrations during special appearances by pipe-cleaner artist Gil Merritt. Merritt creates miniatures and figures of dragons, zombies, werewolves, and more. The bodies of every creature are built completely from pipe cleaners. Additional materials such as acrylic paint, marker, and fabric are used for detail work.
Every day during school–break week:
- Twist and turn pipe cleaners of all sizes into caterpillars, dragons, and anything else your imagination can dream up.
- Let your creativity take flight by folding and creasing an ordinary sheet of paper into a paper airplane that soars through the sky.
- Create unique artwork using your fingers and an ink pad.
- Check out Klutz craft books including Twisted Critters, Klutz Book of Paper Airplanes, and Klutz: The Most Amazing Thumb Doodles Book in the History of the Civilized World.
All school–break week activities are included with general museum admission fees. Materials for school–break week generously provided by Klutz. © 2015 Klutz and ©/TM Klutz. All rights reserved.
