Reindeer Run Family-Friendly Foot Race
at The Strong Museum
Have you “herd”? The third annual Reindeer Run, a unique, family-friendly foot race with proceeds to benefit The Strong, is scheduled for Saturday, December 20 at 8:30 a.m. (Check in at 7:30 a.m.) Produced by YellowJacket Racing and sponsored by Fleet Feet Sports, the all-ages run is downtown Rochester’s only winter 5K event and includes a kids’ race series. Reindeer antlers are available to the first 1,700 registrants, including kids’ run participants.
The race concludes with an awards ceremony in the museum theater. Awards will recognize the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as top three in the following age groups: 14 and under, 15–19, 20–24, 25–29, 30–34, 35–-39, 40–44, 45–49, 50–54, 55–59, 60–64, 65–69, and 70 and older. The fastest male and female reindeer (contestant must be wearing reindeer antlers throughout the entire race) across the line will also receive prizes. Participants are encouraged to come dressed for the holidays or as their favorite toy.
Says Ellen Brenner-Boutillier, vice president and chief financial officer of Fleet Feet Sports and YellowJacket Racing, “We are delighted to again present this festive, winter event in downtown Rochester and partner with The Strong. A record 1,800 runners participated in last year’s Reindeer Run, and we hope more will join in the fun this year.”
Registration is available at both Fleet Feet Sports Locations (155 Culver Road, Suite 110 or 2522 Ridgeway Avenue). For additional details or to register online, visit yellowjacketracing.com.
