Fall 2012 Schedules
at the National Museum of Play
Toddler Book Club
Join the Toddler Book Club at the National Museum of Play at The Strong on selected Mondays at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Parents and toddlers will enjoy readings of award-winning books. The Toddler Book Club fall schedule follows:
Mondays, September 17 & 24—All Aboard! Hop on board for railroad stories such as Freight Train and Train Song.
Mondays, October 1, 15, 22 & 29—Dora’s Travel Adventure Stories. Pack up for a journey around the world with books such as Dora’s World Adventure! and World School Day Adventure. In conjunction with the new exhibit Dora and Diego—Let’s Explore! now at the National Museum of Play.
Mondays, November 5, 19 & 26—Diego’s Animal Tales. Celebrate animals with tales such as Diego’s Wolf Pup Rescue and Diego’s Manatee Rescue. In conjunction with the new exhibit Dora and Diego—Let’s Explore! now at the National Museum of Play.
Mondays, December 3, 10 & 17—Wintery Stories. Cuddle up for snowy stories such as The Snowman and A Snowman Named Bob.
All Toddler Book Club programs are included with general museum admission fees.
Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6
Join in playful learning activities with your child at the Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6 series at the National Museum of Play at The Strong. Designed by The Strong educators, this series helps parents teach little ones important skills through play. Programs take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. one Monday a month. Upcoming programs include:
Monday, October 15—Friendship Fiesta. Join in fiesta fun! Learn basic Spanish vocabulary and enjoy multicultural stories with or told by storyteller and artist Annette Ramos. In conjunction with the new exhibit Dora and Diego—Let’s Explore! now at the National Museum of Play.
Monday, November 5—Rainforest Animals. Learn about animals that live in the rainforest, join in festive songs, and create animal crafts. In conjunction with the new exhibit Dora and Diego—Let’s Explore! now at the National Museum of Play.
Monday, December 10—Winter Wonder. Enjoy cold-weather songs and stories. Make snowflakes and other wintery crafts.
Monday Kicks programs are included with general museum admission fees.
Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission Fees: General Admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): Adults $13, Seniors $12, Children (2–15) $11, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $2 for members, $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.
Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
