The National Museum of Play® at The Strong is centrally located at One Manhattan Square in downtown Rochester, New York.
Easily accessible from the New York State Thruway and regional expressways, the National Museum of Play is only one hour by car from Buffalo and 75 minutes from Syracuse and Niagara Falls.
From the East:Take the New York State Thruway to Exit 45 (Rochester). Take Interstate 490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Avenue/Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Boulevard. At the next traffic light, cross Chestnut Street into the National Museum of Play entrance.
From the South:Take Interstate 390 North to Interstate 590 North. Follow Interstate 590 North to Interstate 490 West. Take Interstate 490 West to Exit 16 (Clinton Avenue/Downtown). At the first traffic light, turn right onto Woodbury Boulevard. At the next traffic light, cross Chestnut Street into the National Museum of Play entrance.
Public transportation:Take a bus to the Broad Street Station. Walk south about two blocks to the National Museum of Play entrance.
Limited free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. (RV drivers: RV parking is limited; early arrival is advised.) If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
Groups arriving by car or on foot may enter the museum through the main public entrance. Parking is free.
Unless other arrangements have been made prior to the visit, groups arriving by bus should come into the museum campus through the entrance located off Pitkin Street. After unloading, buses will be directed to a designated bus parking area. Please print out a bus parking map.
