Dr. Kildare Medical Game for the Young

board game

Dr. Kildare is a fictional medical doctor character invented in the 1930s by author Frederick Schiller Faust writing under the pen name Max Brand. The character and various interpretations of him enjoyed great popularity during the early and mid-twentieth century. The stories inspired several movies and movie serials, and these in turn inspired a television series beginning in 1961. The series lasted five seasons and starred Richard Chamberlain in the title role and Raymond Massey as the senior doctor. Dr. Kildare the television series, along with NBC's rival Ben Casey both are credited with providing inspiration for many medical-themed television series which followed them up to the twenty-first century. A board game with a medical subject "for the young" naturally appeared in the wake of the series success.
