Search Tips

Quotation Marks—Enclosing a multiword phrase in quotation marks tells the search engine to list only sites that contain those words in that exact order.

The following must appear in ALL CAPS and with a space on each side.

AND—Indicates that the records found must contain all the words joined by the AND operator. For example, to find objects that contain the words wizard, oz, and movie, enter wizard AND oz AND movie.

OR—Records found must contain at least one of the words joined by OR. For example, to find objects that contain the word dog or the word puppy, enter dog OR puppy.

AND NOT—Indicates that the records found cannot contain the word that follows the term AND NOT. For example, to find objects that contain the word pets but not the word dogs, enter pets AND NOT dogs.

Rise of Fall: The Battle of the Cliques

card game

In the 2011 card game, Rise or Fall: The Battle of the Cliques, players choose which clique to represent in the game. Then, during play, they either lose popularity points by incorrectly defending their "reputations," or gain points by attacking another player's clique successfully. The game play is described as "rock, paper, scissors" in that each player is either defending or attacking successfully. Players choose to join either the cheerleaders, the jocks, the geeks, the punks, the skaters, the artists, or the cool teachers. In the end, the player with the most popularity points wins the round. Designed and originally published in Holland, Rise or Fall demonstrates the pervasiveness of American culture, especially teen culture. The designer Martin Nedertgaard Andersen has successfully designed many different games.
