Search Tips

Quotation Marks—Enclosing a multiword phrase in quotation marks tells the search engine to list only sites that contain those words in that exact order.

The following must appear in ALL CAPS and with a space on each side.

AND—Indicates that the records found must contain all the words joined by the AND operator. For example, to find objects that contain the words wizard, oz, and movie, enter wizard AND oz AND movie.

OR—Records found must contain at least one of the words joined by OR. For example, to find objects that contain the word dog or the word puppy, enter dog OR puppy.

AND NOT—Indicates that the records found cannot contain the word that follows the term AND NOT. For example, to find objects that contain the word pets but not the word dogs, enter pets AND NOT dogs.

Haunted House Pinball Machine

pinball machine

Manufactured by Gottlieb in 1982, the Haunted House pinball machine made use of horror-themed images, lightning effects and haunting music to entice fans of scary stories. Haunted House is best known for its three-level playing field. Along with the main field, the game includes a raised "attic" area at the top of the game and a lower "basement" level set into a depression at the center of the field. These extra areas require the game to contain eight flippers total as well as a secret passage that allows entrance to the basement area. During the game, players are treated to a rendition of the famous Bach piece "Toccata and Fugue in D minor." Though highly praised by players for its unique playing field and excellent music and lightning, Haunted House is also criticized for its lack of speech effects, and some pinball aficionados claim the game does not possess a high re-play factor.
