March 24 & 25
Follow the Yellow Brick Road to The Wizard of Oz Weekend at the National Museum of Play at The Strong® on Saturday, March 24 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, March 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. Bubbles are the theme as Glinda the Good Witch and Bubble Man Doug Rougeux pop in for an effervescent family weekend.
Are you a good witch or a bad witch? Meet Glinda the Good Witch and pose for pictures. Then ooh and aah over gigantic bubbles and entertaining humor at performances of Bubble Man Doug Rougeux’s BubbleMania on Saturday at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 and 3 p.m. Rougeux has been performing all over the world since 1984, including two national tours with Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Circus.
Experiment with color and light and create Oz-inspired works of art, such as a star wand. Enjoy live performances by The College of Brockport Xylophone Ensemble Saturday at
1 and 3 p.m. as they perform a range of songs.
And don’t miss The Wizard of Oz exhibit, the first-ever licensed traveling educational exhibit based on the beloved movie classic. Come over the rainbow with Dorothy and Toto on an exploration of the colorful Land of Oz. Journey from the Gale Farm to Oz and explore Munchkinland, the Crossroads, the Witch’s Castle, and Emerald City before heading back over the rainbow. Along the way, discover your own courage, heart, and wisdom, and experience the adventures of Dorothy and her friends as they find their way back to true happiness.

Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission Fees: General Admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®):
Adults $13, Seniors $12, Children (2–15) $11, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $2 for members, $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.
Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
