Fall 2011 Schedule
at the National Museum of Play®


Toddler Book Club

Join the Toddler Book Club at The Strong’s National Museum of Play on selected Mondays at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. Parents and toddlers will enjoy readings of award-winning books, and then join in related music and movement activities. The Toddler Book Club fall schedule follows:

Monday, September 19 & 26: Pirate Adventures. Arrgh, matey! Weigh anchor for high-seas stories such as Do Pirates Take Baths? and Pirates Don’t Change Diapers.

Mondays, October 3, 10, 17 & 24: Caldecott Award Winners. Take a peek at amazing illustrations in past award-winning books such as Olivia; No, David!; and Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type.

Mondays, November 7, 14, 21 & 28: Sports of All Sorts. Ready, set, score! Have a ball listening to readings of Goal!, Who Plays This Sport?, and Slam Dunk!

Mondays, December 5, 12 & 19. Wintery Stories. Cuddle up for snowy stories such as The Mitten, Snow, and Winter Is the Warmest Season.

All Toddler Book Club programs are included with general museum admission fees.


Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6

Enjoy playful learning activities with your child at the Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6 series at The Strong’s National Museum of Play. Designed by The Strong educators, this series helps parents teach little ones important skills through play. Programs take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. one Monday a month. Upcoming programs include:

Monday, October 3: Superheroes! Don a mask and cap and fly in for super activities and crafts.

Monday, November 14: The Big Game. Enjoy sports-related crafts and explore the new Football exhibit.  

Monday, December 12: Winter Wonder. Enjoy a special performance of The Mitten, an interactive folk tale about a boy who loses his mitten in the snow.

Monday Kicks programs are included with general museum admission fees.


Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.

Admission Fees: General admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®):Adults $12, Seniors $11, Children (2–15) $10, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.

Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General admission fee plus $2 for members; $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only. Please call 585-263-2700 to reserve and purchase tickets.

Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
