at the National Museum of Play
Visit Dora & Diego—Let’s Explore! a new exhibit at the National Museum of Play® at The Strong® September 22, 2012 through January 6, 2013. Swing into adventure with Dora and Diego from Nickelodeon’s hit preschool series Dora the Explorer and Go, Diego, Go!—along with their friends Boots, Map, Backpack, Isa, Tico, and of course Swiper.
And don’t miss these special Dora and Diego-themed events:
Saturday, September 22, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
Sunday, September 23, noon–5 p.m.
Opening Weekend Fiesta
Meet, greet, and pose for pictures with Dora during several appearances throughout each weekend day. Enjoy the festive, fiesta-like atmosphere with music by the Mariachi Meliora band from the University of Rochester, dancing by Borinquen Dance Theater (Saturday only), and crafts, puppetry, and Spanish vocabulary lessons.

Toddler Book Club: Dora’s Travel Adventure Stories
Part of an ongoing series of story readings for parents and toddlers on selected Mondays at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. This month: Pack up for a journey around the world with books such as Dora’s World Adventure! and World School Day Adventure.

Monday Kicks for Ages 2 to 6: Friendship Fiesta
Part of an ongoing series designed by The Strong educators to help parents teach little ones important skills through play. Learn basic Spanish vocabulary and enjoy multicultural tales read by story teller and artist Annette Ramos.

Toddler Book Club: Diego’s Animal Tales
Part of an ongoing series of story readings for parents and toddlers on selected Mondays at 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 p.m. This month: Celebrate animals with tales such as Diego’s Wolf Pup Rescue and Diego’s Manatee Rescue.

Dora and Diego’s Animal Adventure Weekend
Say hello to Dora and Diego and pose for pictures. Gather around Latina writer, storyteller, and performance artist Annette Ramos for interactive readings on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 and
3 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 and 3 p.m. and learn a few words in Spanish! Hear about animals native to the El Yunque Rainforest in Puerto Rico. Create a menagerie of origami animals such as jumping frogs and cats, and stop by the play zone to monkey around with animal puppets, binoculars, compasses, and other cool explorer gadgets. Visit with dogs from Greyhound Adoption on Saturday from 11 a.m. to
3 p.m. and dogs from Lollypop Farm’s Pet Assisted Therapy Group on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m.
All programs and events are included with general museum admission fees.

Museum Hours: Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 .m.;
Sunday, noon to 5 p.m.
Admission Fees: General Admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®): Adults $13, Seniors $12, Children (2–15) $11, Children younger than two free, Museum members free.
Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden: General Admission fee plus $2 for members, $4 for nonmembers; children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only.
Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
