December Performances at the National Museum of Play 

 

December 3: Eastman School Performance

Start the weekend off on the right note and join Eastman School of Music students at the National Museum of Play for a family-friendly performance Friday, December 3 at 6 p.m. (The museum is open until 8 p.m. every Friday evening, so there is ample time to visit museum exhibits before or after the concert.)

 The Eastman School performance is included with general museum admission fees.

 

December 4: Pirate Toy Fund Celebration with Gary the Happy Pirate

Bring a new, unwrapped toy for children in need and join Gary the Happy Pirate for a special musical performance at the National Museum of Play on Saturday, December 4 at 2:15 p.m. News 10NBC will tape a segment with Gary at 3 p.m. for the evening news. The Pirate Toy Fund is sponsored by Wegmans and 10NBC.

All Pirate Toy Fund activities are included with general museum admission fees.

 

December 4: Madeline’s Christmas Preview

Enjoy a preview of the children’s musical Madeline’s Christmas at the National Museum of Play presented by Cara D’Emanuele Productions on Saturday, December 4 at 11 a.m., noon, and 1 p.m. Adapted from the beloved book by Ludwig Bemelmans, the full version of Madeline’s Christmas will be performed by an all-girl cast at the Visual Studies Workshop December 10–19.

The preview performance is included with general museum admission fees.

Monday–Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.;  Sunday, noon to
5 p.m.

 

Admission Fees:

General Admission (does not include admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®):

Adults $11; Seniors $10; Children (2–15) $9; Children younger than two free; Strong members free.

 

Admission to Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden®:

General Admission fee plus $1.50 for members, $3 for nonmembers; Children under 2 free. Entry is by timed ticket only. Please call 585-263-2700 to reserve and purchase tickets.

Parking: Free parking is available at the museum for all guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that, on high visitation days, the museum lot may reach capacity early in the day. If space is not available on site at the time of your visit, additional parking is available at neighboring municipal garages for a fee. The Strong is not responsible for fees incurred at off-site locations.
