Sara, that's a great question. Unfortunately, The Strong's staff members cannot discuss valuation or recommend appraisers. However, to informally calculate the toy stove’s value, you could search for similar items on eBay.com (limit your search to Completed Listings via the left-hand menu) or consult collectors’ guides in your local library. You are welcome to search The Strong’s online library catalog (http://www.libraryandarchivesofplay.org/research) to find titles that might be useful in your research. Another option is to search the database at www.appraisers.org for a specialist in your area; bear in mind that the fee to secure a certified appraisal may outweigh the value of your toy.

Foreign dolls and miniatures are one of my specialties and will be the focus of Dr. E's Doll Museum. Ruth is my soul-mate; I love her idea of placing her settings in settings. I enjoy this, too, and it is in the spirit of Margaret Woodbury Strong's original collections to cherish little things.
