In 1961 YoYos were all the rage at my middle school.
Dunkin was the King.
Ever the entrepreneur, I bought a wax candle, a ball of kite string and a package of wax paper sandwich bags. I waxed two replacement strings and sold them at recess for 25¢ a pair.
Inflated? Yes. But, when your string broke - did you really want to wait til later to loop on a fresh string ?

Remember Walk the Dog and Round the World ?

Excellent article. This brings back so many memories from my own childhood. I still remember getting my first real live Duncan in my Christmas stocking at age 7 or 8. It was a "trick" one..the butterfly, orange and yellow. I wonder what ever became of that yo-yo. I think I'll run out and get one right now.
