Meet Cyberchase Live-Action TV star “Harry”
at Strong National Museum of Play® Saturday, June 2
Part of New Cyberchase Exhibit Opening Weekend Celebration
Portal into fun and adventure with a special appearance by Matt Wilson, PBS KIDS GO! Cyberchase star at Strong National Museum of Play® on Saturday, June 2 when the museum celebrates the opening of Cyberchase–The Chase is On!, an out-of-this world, educational exhibit based on the popular television math mystery cartoon.
Wilson, who plays the role of Harry on the “For Real” live-action segments on the Cyberchase show, will greet museum guests and host performances (Saturday, June 2 only) at 12:30, 2:00, and 3:30 p.m. Digit, the show’s cyberbird pal, will meet and greet museum guests both Saturday, June 2 and Sunday, June 3.
Using his special brand of humor, Wilson shows how everyone uses math in real life situations. His funny antics may include juggling, making balloon sculptures, and other crazy tricks. Following his performances, kids will also have the opportunity to get Wilson’s autograph. Bring your camera and have your picture taken with the cyberstar!
Cyberchase is the award-winning math mystery cartoon on PBS KIDS GO! that features a team of curious kids—Jackie, Matt, Inez, and their cyberbird pal Digit—who use math and problem solving to outwit and outsmart the dastardly villain Hacker in their adventurous quest to save Cyberspace. Each episode ends with a live-action “For Real” segment, hosted by Harry and Bianca, two young comedic characters who explore the show’s math topic in the real world.
Museum guests are also invited to enter the Cyberchase exhibit through a special portal and use their reasoning and problem-solving skills in the exhibit’s colorful cybersites including Control Central, Hacker’s Grim Wreaker, Poddeville, and others.
Cyberchase airs daily on more than 300 public television stations and digital channels in all 50 states and is seen weekly by more than 5 million viewers. Cyberchase online (www.pbskidsgo.org/cyberchase) has had more than 1.5 billion page views, engaging kids in math-based interactive games, crafts, and activities.
Cyberchase–The Chase Is On! was developed by the Children’s Museum of Houston in partnership with Thirteen/WNET New York with major funding from the National Science Foundation. Cyberchase is produced by Thirteen/WNET New York and Nelvana Limited and can be seen nationally on PBS KIDS GO! and locally at 3:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11). The exhibit is made possible in Rochester in part by AT&T.
All Cyberchase opening weekend activities are included with general museum admission fees.
Strong National Museum of Play®, located in downtown Rochester, New York, is the only museum in the world devoted to the study of play as it illuminates American popular culture.
