How do I purchase a membership?

There are four easy ways you can purchase or renew a National Museum of Play membership:

• Visit our online membership page;
• Visit the museum admissions desk (for quicker service, bring your renewal notice or print and fill-out an application before coming to the museum);

Family ($99)

All Basic Membership benefits for up to two named adults and all children under age 18 in the same household.

Grandparent ($99)

All Basic Membership benefits for up to two named grandparents in the same household and all grandchildren under age 18.

Additional features

Add-a-Guest (add $30)

With Add-a-Guest, you can bring one guest for free each time you visit the museum. Member must accompany guest. Limit one Add-a-Guest per membership. Your membership card(s) will indicate this feature and expires when the memebrship expires.

Nanny card (add $30)

We can issue an extra card with your membership so that your caregiver or nanny may escort your children to the museum. Nanny must be 18 years or older and care for your children only. Limit one nanny per membership. Nanny’s full name required. There is a $5 fee for changing nannies. The nanny card will expire when your membership expires.

Gift memberships

Share the fun by purchasing a gift membership for family and friends—its the gift that gives all year long! You may purchase a gift membership online (click the blue button at the top of the page), at the museum admissions desk, or by calling 585-263-2700.

The Strong is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit educational organization. All or part of your membership contribution may be tax deductible. Please consult your tax advisor.

Membership is a revocable license for the member and permitted guests.  The member and permitted guests are subject to the rules and regulations of The Strong (the museum). The museum reserves the right to expel from the premises any guest and/or revoke the membership, without refund, of any member where the presence or conduct of the member or guest is deemed objectionable as determined by the museum in its sole discretion, or who fails to comply with any and all security measures and applicable laws.
